KMS History

The KMS history began in 1992 with the establishment of KWELM Management Services Ltd to administer the world's then largest combined insurance company insolvent scheme of arrangement; the KWELM Scheme.

The complex circumstances of the KWELM companies' run-off gave our team the experience which few other companies have faced in terms of run-off administration and closure.

In 1997 the KWELM Group set up a third-party run-off service provider, KMS Insurance Services Limited (KMSIS). Since then KMSIS has been successful in offering complete or partial run-off services to solvent companies.

Following the very successful Bar Date process and Substantial Closure Distribution, the KWELM Group transferred all of its run-off business, and the company KMSIS, to the current group of companies, set up by four of the senior executives of the KWELM Group.

As a result the residual run-off of the KWELM companies, and of all other insolvent companies previously conducted by KWELM Management Services Limited, has now transferred to KMS Insurance Management ("KMSIM"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Continuum Holdings Limited.

KMSIS and KMSIM (jointly known as KMS) are appointed representatives of Continuum Holdings Limited which has an authority under Part IV of the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000.
