Peter Osborne

A Claims Specialist at KMS, Peter is involved in handling client’s entire claims portfolios and has been part of the team assisting in the feasibility of a number of clients proposing Solvent Schemes of Arrangement. Peter has over 23 years of experience working in the London Market, predominantly within the claims environment.

Peter began work in 1984 within the Closings Department of H. S. Weavers, dealing with the processing of premiums and claims. In 1986 he transferred to the Professional Indemnity Underwriting Department where he undertook a number of administration roles.

Peter moved to the Claims Department in 1989 joining the Hospital Professional Liability section. In 1990 he moved to the Casualty Department, initially as part of Southwark Run Off Services and then KWELM Management Services, dealing predominantly with Products Liability claims. Part of the function included quarterly management reporting of major product exposures and emerging trends and on-site claims reviews of major US Insureds.

In 1997 Peter moved to the newly formed Bevis Insurance Services, created to provide services for non-KWELM clients. He was a Claims Examiner dealing with APH claims for a London Market subscribed Insurer. Progressing to the Section Head of the Claims Department he was involved in the transfer of the clients’ claims away from the subscribed London Market to being handled independently. This resulted in more direct involvement with policyholders and US attorneys.
